Located in beautiful Kelowna, British Columbia, the executive director, under the direction of the Board of Directors, plans, organizes, directs, controls and administers all agency activities, services and operations directly or through reporting managers and supervisors consistent with Board-approved policies, goals and objectives in accordance with legal statutory constitutional and other requirements. They ensure a high standard of individual-based service delivery and promotes the agency’s activities!

  • University degree or college diploma in social service delivery and management.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Minimum of five years of experience working with adults with diverse abilities and three years in management. A combination of education and experience may be considered.
  • Valid criminal records check, class 5 BC driver’s license, and use of a safe vehicle with business use insurance coverage.
  • COVID vaccinations and a physician’s declaration of competence.
  • Ability to lead, direct, and manage a not-for-profit organization.

Preference will be given to applicants with prior experience in an executive director or Chief Operating Officer position, working with Community Living BC and/ or overseeing a unionized work environment.


  • Long range analytical thinking and problem-solving skills complemented with efficient decision-making and
  • Achievement in developing and leading services.
  • High level of personal integrity and
  • Ability to negotiate and mediate with diplomacy and
  • Ability to work under pressure, multi-task, adapt to frequent changes and work flexible hours.
  • Respond to emergencies as required.
  • Participate in rotating on-call duties.


– Competitive salary range of $100,000 to $110,000 annually and negotiable.

–  Excellent benefits including a pension plan.

– 3 weeks vacation to start.

– 40 hours per week with schedule flexibility.
